Sheriff’s Deputy- Entry and Lateral (Civil Service)

Deputies are responsible for the preservation of the public peace, protection of life and property, prevention of crime, investigation of crimes, the arrest of violators of the law, the proper enforcement of all laws and ordinances of the County, State and the United States, and adherence to the Sheriff’s Rules, Regulations and Procedures.

SALARY & BENEFITS: Union, vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, longevity, retirement plan, and medical benefits. Starting salary: Entry Level at Step 1, $4304.45/month; Laterals: Step 2, $4484.57/month to Step 4, $4842.52/month, depending on experience. (Rates effective 1-1-2019).

Physical Agility Test (PAT): Thursday, January 10, 2019, 1:00 p.m. in the Civil Service Office at the County Courthouse, 625 W. 4th St., Newport, WA.
>You must pass the PAT to continue on to the written.

Written Exam: Immediately following the PAT (same day) at the same location in the Civil Service Office.

Typing Test: No minimum required and not grounds for disqualification. Your typing score will be added to your application before submission to the Sheriff’s office (if applicable).
