April 16, 2021 Press Release 1st Half Property Taxes are Due April 30; Business Extension Available:
We understand times are tough for many. Businesses with a documented 25% reduction in revenue attributable to that real property in 2020 from 2019 may apply for an extension of payment on 2021 real property taxes through December 31, 2021 for those properties if enrolled in a payment plan with the county treasurer. Verification of the revenue loss could be subject to audit by the Department of Revenue. If granting the extension results in any taxing jurisdiction being unable to make scheduled bond payments, then the county treasurer may need to deny the extensions under ESHB 1332. A link to the request form is listed below. Please complete and submit the form by April 30, 2021 to the Pend Oreille County Treasurer. The form is titled 2021 Request for Real Property Tax Due Date Extension & Payment Agreement Due to Revenue Loss, Provided in ESHB 1332 (Fill-in) 64-0166.
While we are not able to extend the due date or waive interest or penalty for late payments for everyone, we do accept partial payments for property taxes. Please contact the Treasurer’s Office at 509-447-3612 for information.
