Pend Oreille County Clerk’s Office is Offering Limited Services

COVID Update for Monday, May 11, 2020:

The Pend Oreille County Clerk’s Office is offering limited in-person services beginning Monday May 11, 2020.

The Hall of Justice will be open from 8:00am to 4:30pm and the Clerk’s Office is closed from noon to 1pm.

Passport processing is currently suspended.  Passport pictures are available for $10.

We will be practicing social distancing in the Clerk’s offices:

We will serve only one party at a time;
Parties must be at least six feet apart;
Parties must stay behind the red six-foot lines until the customer ahead of you has left;
Face masks are recommended, if you need one please ask and we will bring you one.

If you are sick, please stay home, rest and remember to:

  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your sleeve.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water.
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects (for example, TV remotes and computers).

Washington State is following a phased reopening to resume business, recreational and social activities. All residents should continue to avoid non-essential contact, limit your trips and stay six feet apart from others.

Pend Oreille County Clerk

The Pend Oreille County Clerk is one of the elected officials provided by the Washington State Constitution with specific duties assigned by statue and court rules.  The Clerk is, by virtue of the Constitution, ex-officio of Superior Court and serves as the official record keeper and financial officer of Superior Court.  Tammie Ownbey has held the position of County Clerk since January of 2007.

Mission Statement:  As the “gatekeeper” of the court, it is our mission to protect the integrity and accuracy of the court records of Pend Oreille County Superior Court while serving the public and legal community in a courteous and professional manner.  The office is committed to providing timely assistance, ensuring equal access to court services, treating users of the court system with respect and dignity and enhancing public trust and confidence in the court system.
